PROHIBITED AND RESTRICTED GOODS
Drugs and narcotics. Firearms require a special permit.

CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
Used household goods and personal effects may be imported duty-free into Belgium, provided that they have been in the owner’s possession and used abroad for at least six months.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
1. Photostat copy of passport showing picture and signature.
2. Non-valued inventory list or packing list in English, French, or German signed in original by the customer.
3. Signed questionnaire confirming all household goods are for personal use and owned for more than 6 months
4. Copy town hall registration or substitute: a provisional registration – attestation of arrival (aankomstattest/attestation d’arrivee) from the Belgian commune of residence.
5. Copy of a letter of employment and/or any other documents proving that the client lived at least one year in the country of departure prior to his arrival in Belgium.
6. For returning Belgian citizens only: also a certificate of change of residence from the last Belgian commune of departure.
7. Original or Express ocean bill of lading or airway bill.
8. For diplomatic shipments only: customs form 136F and diplomatic attestation

Cars and Motorcycles:
Used household goods and personal effects may be imported duty-free into Belgium, provided that they have been in the owner’s possession and used abroad for at least six months.
1. Title of registration/proof of insurance/purchase invoice
2. Photostat copy of passport showing picture and signature
3. Signed questionnaire confirming all household goods are for personal use and have been owned for more than 6 months

4. Copy of the letter of employment and/or any other documents proving that the client has lived at least one year in the country of departure prior to his arrival in Belgium.
5. Copy of the town hall registration or Belgian ID card mentioning the address.
6. If the shipment is a diplomatic shipment, a 136F form is only required.

Wine and Liquor:
A detailed valued inventory list is required. Import duties and VAT will be due.

Pets:
A rabies vaccination certificate dated at least 30 days and not more than 1 year prior to entry is required.

New goods:
A detailed list and purchase invoices are required. Import duties and VAT will be due.
